about me

Growing up, I was influenced by narrow beauty ideals and societal pressures regarding body image and eating habits. This constant focus made me highly conscious of my body from a young age, leading to years of restrictive dieting and an unhealthy obsession with the scale. By high school, I developed disordered eating, which escalated into a full-blown eating disorder in college, fueled by the belief that my worth was tied to my body size.

In pursuit of understanding food and health, I returned to school to study nutrition after initially earning a degree in chemistry. Unfortunately, my education was filled with

weight stigma, reinforcing the myth that health was only associated with smaller bodies. It wasn’t until I worked in dialysis, caring for patients with kidney failure in all shapes and sizes, that I truly grasped the disconnect between weight and health.

My relationship with movement was also complicated, as I saw it as a means to change my body instead of honoring it. Exercise often left me exhausted rather than fulfilled. However, after reading The Body Keeps the Score, I discovered yoga as a powerful tool for reconnecting with my body. This led me to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and deepen my understanding of movement's role in holistic health.

After leaving dialysis, I joined a telehealth company where I could implement intuitive eating counseling alongside medical nutrition therapy. In June 2025, I became a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and launched Wildflower Wellness. My journey had come full circle, from battling my own food struggles to empowering others to break free from theirs.

Today, I value my relationship with food, my mind, and my body. I approach them with respect, ensuring I listen to my needs for rest, movement, and nourishment. My passion is ignited by a mission to help others escape the food and body prison I once inhabited. I want you to know that food freedom is an ongoing practice and is possible.

If you're struggling with your relationship with food and your body, I invite you to join me on this transformative journey. Together, we can work toward a healthier, more joyful existence where food fuels rather than controls you, and movement becomes a celebration of your body instead of a punishment. Let's embark on this journey together!
